Hi Caregiving Families and Lucas Project Supporters,
What a full summer it has been! We are delighted to be only four days away from launching Meet & Mingle, a monthly gathering that supports caregivers by providing respite and community.
Our first event kicks off this Saturday, July 19th, from 9:30-12:30 pm at Rose Park Reformed Church in Holland, Michigan.
This is a FREE respite opportunity for caregivers of individuals ages 13-50 with ALL care levels.
While your participant enjoys games, crafts, and activities, we invite caregivers to grab a cup of coffee and a donut—stay and hang out with other caregivers, or head out and enjoy a break. Take a moment to catch your breath and trust that your loved one is safe and cared for.
Caregiver, we see you and all your hard work. It’s time to do something good for yourself. Take a break and breathe. Learn more about Meet & Mingle.
We’d love to have a head count for Saturday, so please register below if possible. Participants may also be registered at the door for Saturday’s event.

Other Lucas Project Updates
Are you a caregiver who loves reading? We’d love for you to join us inside the Caregivers Cove.
Our summer book club is underway and we are reading Stories that Bind Us by Susie Finkbeiner. We gather weekly via Google Meet to discuss the reading and talk about life with other caregivers. All members of the Cove are welcome.
Have you heard about the new documentary in the works? Uncertain is a documentary based around the search for supported living. Watch the trailer today and sign up for their newsletter for updates on its release.
Are you a caregiver looking for support? Or do you know a caregiver who would love a community that gets the gritty and gracious part of caregiving?
Our private caregiver support community has over 2,000 members! We offer and enjoy workouts, live webinars, a prayer chat, and more! The best part is that everything is FREE!You don’t have to navigate caregiving alone. We are here for you!
In 2024, we distributed over 200 care packages, & we continue to receive requests. We also partnered with Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital to deliver care packages to parents with children in the ICU, on top of the numerous nominations we receive. We would love your support with donations of either items to fill the packages or to our Care Package Fund below! Let us help these parent caregivers feel SEEN!
Will you consider donating a gift of $50, $100, $250, $500, or any amount to help us meet this urgent goal and help caregivers know that they are valued? We offer several ways to donate, and don’t forget to ask your employer if they offer matching donations!
Here is how you can help:
Donate directly on our website by going to www.thelucasproject.org and selecting "donate to our general fund."
Set up a monthly donation on Facebook by visiting our page for The Lucas Project, selecting "donate" at the top right, and setting up a monthly amount.
Set up your own Facebook Fundraiser and share it with your friends so they can donate too!
Send a check in the mail to P.O. Box 217 West Olive, MI 49460
Donate through our PayPal link!
Or our Venmo account!
As always, thank you for being a part of our mission! Your support brings awareness and solutions to the parent caregiver community, and we are grateful.

Corporate Partner Connection
The Lucas Project is seeking partnerships with small businesses and corporations for funding and volunteer opportunities. Many of our families also ask how they can help raise funds! If you work for a company that supports nonprofits or know someone who may be interested in partnering with us, please email info@thelucasproject.org with any ideas you may have!
